This is a thrown and altered bowl with markings that make the floating blue glaze look great on the chocolate stoneware clay.  I've been working with this glaze on a lighter, B-mix clay and getting a different result.

This bowl was treated much the same way, with a little less marking on it.  The floating blue glaze gives a less mottled look to this white stoneware clay and the markings are less pronounced.  I like both bowls, especially because they were less than perfect when thrown, but the squared off rims have made them into two special pieces.  Floating blue has been my "go to" glaze because it almost always gives a good result.
