The Boardwalk Art Show was a success! Many thanks to friends who stopped by to wish me well. This picture shows some early shoppers checking out the goods and my husband at his post. He and my daughter were the most essential elements of my business plan for the day. Love you guys!

In a few weeks I will be one of several artists showing my pottery and paintings on the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. On Saturday, September 7th I will pitch my tent, set up my display and be as open for business as possible. If the weather is nice, it will be a wonderful day to stroll along the boardwalk, see some art and crafts, and take in the sea air before the summer is gone. In addition, please note that Anne Taylor Glapion Fine Art is launching its facebook page today. I hope you will "like" it. Last night we checked out the Bayshore Discovery Project in Bivalve. There were some interesting exhibits to see about the history of oystering in Bivalve; several lectures were scheduled; and there was an art gallery, too. The gentlemen pictured below are shucking oysters which were sold for a dollar each to benefit the nonprofit organization. There was a band and food and wine. Oh my! All of the oysters got me started in a new direction. I'm still working on this one.
'm getting my tent ready in case I get accepted for a craft show in September. Now that I see it all set up I realize I've got a lot more work to do. Since I'm in a selling mood, I also spent some time setting up an online store that links to my website. If it all worked correctly, you can click on the link at the right to connect to my store. If not, stay tuned. This is a thrown and altered bowl with markings that make the floating blue glaze look great on the chocolate stoneware clay. I've been working with this glaze on a lighter, B-mix clay and getting a different result. This bowl was treated much the same way, with a little less marking on it. The floating blue glaze gives a less mottled look to this white stoneware clay and the markings are less pronounced. I like both bowls, especially because they were less than perfect when thrown, but the squared off rims have made them into two special pieces. Floating blue has been my "go to" glaze because it almost always gives a good result. I made a video for my friends and relations (and they are many) who were unable to attend the exhibit at the Clay College last month. The background music is Journey Within by Charles Lloyd. The questionable photography is by me. This is a whole lotta people enjoying Donna Angelle and the Zydeco Posse at the Chevron stage. This is the view from Bubba Gump's garret.
